Congratulations to Mrs. Matrina Eno (7/8th grade science teacher) who was chosen to receive the Lester Crown MSI (Museum of Science and Industry) Distinguished Teacher Award. Mrs. Eno has been a teacher with FHSD #169 for 23 years.
This award is given to educators who have completed at least four of MSI’s science teacher education courses, where educators gain knowledge of next-generation science standards aligned curriculum, improve teaching skills and return to the classroom with new ideas and resources to make science more engaging. Teachers who receive this award receive a certificate, a $1000 personal award as well as a $1000 award for Ford Heights Schools.
Mrs. Eno shared, “I was totally surprised when I received the email, in fact I thought it was a spam email at first. When you are rewarded for something you love to do it just solidifies the fact that I am doing what I was born to do.”
The award recognizes the commitment Mrs. Eno has made to her own professional growth, to improving her instruction and to improving science outcomes for her students. By completing courses in the museum’s Institute for Quality Science Teaching, Mrs. Eno has distinguished herself as an exemplary educator and for that we say CONGRATULATIONS and job well done.
