Parent Participation
School District 169 recognizes that students’ success in school, to a large degree, is linked to parent participation. Parents are strongly encouraged:
- To attend scheduled district parent/teacher conferences;
- To see that children are at school on time everyday;
- To review, sign, and return homework papers and any papers that have low scores;
- To check on students progress in person from time to time.
In an effort to adhere to the State of Illinois mandates, School District 169 understands it is required to retain any student who does not meet the district standards for promotion. The teachers will make the recommendation to retain or promote all students. In all cases, the building principal will make an objective decision on all retentions.
