The Illinois State Board of Education is requiring Districts to have an adopted policy allowing for accelerated placement as a result of the Accelerated Placement Act. The policy should be located on the District’s website, in accordance with Section 227.60 of the Illinois Administrative Code. The process and criteria used by the District is to determine whether a student is eligible for participation in a gifted education program or advanced academic program and the manner in which parents and guardians are made aware of the process and criteria.​
