District 169 identifies parental involvement as one of its four action components for ensuring that students attending Ford Heights Schools receive a quality education. In order to facilitate greater levels of parental involvement, we provide special services and activities through our Parent Center. The Parent Center has become a haven where parents can come and work to strengthen personal skills that help to provide greater academic support to their children. Parents are encouraged to utilize the center as a resource to obtain referrals and receive training necessary to act as a child's first teacher.

Parents are also encouraged to participate in the educational process by volunteering to assist with district and school related activities and events. Volunteer opportunities include working with the PTO, assisting with events that take place in the schools and through the Parent Center.

The Parent Center is opened Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
