                                           Books of the Month

The Book of the month is a school wide activity which promotes reading fluency. Daily, the homeroom teacher reads a small passage from the selected book.  The oral reading is followed with discussion that helps to improve reading comprehension.  Parents can help to promote the importance of reading by participating in the Book of the Month reading and activities for  parents.

                                      25 Book Campaign

Students develop into skilled readers through frequent practice. Students attending Medgar Evers School are encouraged to read 25 books per year. Students who meet the goals of the 25 Book Campaign receive special recognition for that achievement. We urge parents to read to your children and listen to them read daily.
